Las Vegas Condos – Celebrity Style!
By Dawn Papandrea

Second only to Hollywood, if even, rubbing elbows with celebrities is what happens in Vegas – really. In fact, because of the nonstop excitement, endless entertainment, and hot nightlife, if you're considering buying or investing in Las Vegas condos, you're in famous company. That's because highly sought after luxury real estate has made celebrity condo style in Las Vegas the standard.

Whose Buying Las Vegas Condos?
Famed celebrity poker player and actor Tobey Maguire purchased a high-rise Las Vegas condo at Panorama to have direct access to card tournaments. Other celeb owners there include Leonardo DiCaprio and Pamela Anderson.

Another haven for celebrity condo style in Las Vegas is at The Palms. Perhaps the casino's celeb draw is a result of the hotel casino being owned by the Maloof brothers, who also own the NBA Sacramento Kings. Among notable star residents are Kiss singer Paul Stanley, pro wrestler Hulk Hogan, racecar driver Mario Andretti, and numerous sports and big screen figures. For a short time, even Jessica Simpson and Nick Lachey shared a luxury Las Vegas condo at The Palms, until ownership became a subject of their divorce proceedings. You can't blame the city of sin for that one.

Over at The Cosmopolitan, New York Yankee star Derek Jeter calls himself the owner of a luxury Las Vegas condo, while Paris Hilton owns a residence at W Las Vegas Casino, keeping her close to the partying action.

So why are celebs drawn to Las Vegas condos?
For starters, real estate media has speculated that condominium developers often lure celebrities with discounts and incentives in order to create a buzz about their properties. It's been reported, though not proven, that W Las Vegas waived Paris Hilton's $50,000 down payment in exchange for using her name to promote the property. Other celebs seek the discretion that being a Las Vegas condo owner can provide, and some even conduct transactions via third parties to remain anonymous.

Beyond the usual perks of being a Las Vegas condo owner – glitz, glamour, luxury – celebs, socialites, and real estate enthusiasts alike seek out Las Vegas condos because it's the trendy thing to do. Some possible reasons why? Watch cable TV at any time of day, and you'll no doubt catch a celebrity poker tournament – and many participants, like Tobey Maguire, are considered serious card players.

Then, of course, is the constant buzz around town created by performances (The Beatles Love by Cirque de Soleil is a big celeb draw), concerts (most major tours make a stop at the MGM Grand), sporting events (boxing anyone?), and even the CineVegas film festival. Add to that annual Las Vegas-held conventions that take place for a variety of celeb-friendly industries.

Other signs that celebrity condo style in Las Vegas is on the rise is all around. The younger crowd tuned in to watch The Palms as the site of MTV's "The Real World Las Vegas." Foodies flock to the Las Vegas-based restaurants of celebrity chefs from Emeril Lagasse and Wolfgang Puck to Bobby Flay. And, how could one discuss Las Vegas without talking about the casino action? Celebrities often do their celebrating on the casino floor, in posh Vegas nightclubs, and ultimately in the tabloids. Of course, what you've read probably doesn't even scratch the surface. After all, you know what they say about what happens in Las Vegas…
